How do you edit without using stepmania or using code? and no ddream either... my comp locks up with stepmani and ddream, and i dont want to spend hours on end typing up the codes

iirc, there was a program called dancing monkeys

All Dancing Monkeys does is autogen terrible, generic steps and poorly syncs your simfile. It's also more CPU intensive than both SM and DDRream. You basically can't do anything while it's running. I highly doubt it would run if neither of those would run. I know this because I used it when I first started stepping. Which is why my early files were horrifyingly bad.

But, yeah, I'm not even sure if it's still around. I stopped using it at least a year and a half ago.

I really don't think there's another way to make stepfiles. There's DWI, but all I've ever heard is talk about it. Does it even exist anymore? Even so, SM is the best way.

Is your computer VERY old, do you have any viruses, etc.? There has to be a reason why they won't work.

I'm on a 3.5 year old, never upgraded, 512 ram computer and i run stepmania 4.0 cvs flawlessly without even a hint of lag.

my comp is 10 years old, 64 ram ok, so does that help? it doesnt even have a pentium processor
