Okay I'm on the resonance thingy and YAY it loads but kiwi want's to know WHERE THE HELL ARE THE ARROWS?! Cause they don;t show up when the song loads and I can't play and that's just mean you guys.....that's being mean to kiwi.

Well, There aren't simfiles for all the difficulties i.e. butterfly doesn't work on beginner.

This is because people havn't taken the time to step the song at that difficulty. To avoid this, try using the simfile database to find you resonance songs.

That's just flat out not true Zageron. Please don't tell people incorrect information especially in the newbie forum.

The purpose of resonance is to allow users to test out songs in the simfile database before taking the time to download them, move them into their SM directory, load up SM, play the song etc.

Since it's basically just there as an easy vehicle for you to estimate whether a stepfile is good enough to bother downloading, and not as a "game" in itself, there is very little put into trying to make it as functional as say, FFR R1 (IE. no alternate scroll rates, keymapping etc) It's just there for you to go "Oh this file sucks, oh that file's awesome.

The reason you find songs that appear to have no arrows is that when you are making songs in Stepmania, not everyone takes the time to ensure that they've only made a stepfile in the difficulties they've provided arrows. So a lot of the time they'll have an empty beginner, light, standard and challenge file with a heavy version that works.

kiwi, if you want to play songs from Resonance, download the game Stepmania onto your computer (see stepmania.com) and download the files from the database. Extract the files from their zipped folders and put them in C:\Program Files\Stepmania\Songs\Group Folder, where Group Folder is a folder named whatever you want (ex. "Downloaded Songs"). If you are having trouble extracting or playing songs that you download, or Stepmania in general, send me a private message or post on my wall and I'll help you out.

Resonance works great. Chances are a bad simfile got loaded and caused it to screw up.

Did you close all windows and browsers exept the resonace flash then let it fully load? I had this problem too, because usally I go to other windows when im testing my sims and sometimes when I have to do something I abort it and when I reload it, no arrows pop up.
Not to confuse you, but you can put new windows, just make sure it's loaded fully, or the song wont show arrows/go off sync.

It would be better if you could PLAY A SONG WITH THE BPM CHANGES, MINES, ROLLS, AND ETC.
