Hi everyone! ...

i need help for my new stepmania song ..

How do i change the pictures on the song? .. like bg and the logo ... i cant figure it out by myself :P

First of all please read the stickies and announcements! They will teach about such things as double posting and will answer common questions like this.


To answer your question, save the file as a PNG file with followed with
-banner (song banner)
-bg (backround)
-cdtitle (your signature image that will spin around on the banner)
If there are still problems try renaming the images then change their name back to the previous name.

Well your song in Stepmania are in folders, right click copy and paste a picture in the folder and then right click again and rename it as bg (background) or banner and that should work.

Okay...uhm... i took your advise Fido123 ... and? .. now the banner is on for ½ sec ... and then it turns pink...yea pink..and the others ... bg and cdtitle ... is still not doing anything ... but thanks for the help ..

The problem is that i cant get the bg - banner - cdtitle - inside the game ...

Be sure to turn your fast load off. I remember when nothing could get my graphics in my files. All you have to do is load up Stepmania> Options> Other options> Fast load> toggle off.

Now to switch between backgrounds, first copy and paste your graphics into your song folder. To find the folder for your song, go to Start> Programs> Stepmania> Open stepmania program folder> songs> *the group folder your song is in*> *your song folder*

After you paste them, be sure the one you want to load first has that "bg" extension, and the rest don't. Now load up Stepmania and go inside the editor with your song. To switch between backgrounds select the measure you want then press "b". Go to "add change to song still" and use the left/right arrow keys to select the picture you want to change to. You can also add a fade effect by toggling the "fade last" option to yes. Press enter while still highlighting the "add change to song still" and it will insert that effect to the song.

Save it and it should now switch to whichever you set them to, note this works for vids as well.
