Yep, different threads get put into different boards to avoid confusion. For example, in the FFR board, we talk about FFR. in the Dance dance revolution board, we talking about DDR. Yup people who can ban you are Admins or Mods (can mods ban? I'm not sure on that one) Synthlight, do not get on his bad side. Not that he's mean or anything, but he's the one who made the entire site, and pretty much created FFR. Jewpin well, he's funny. Just read the rules and you'll be fine. I doubt there's anything that you really need to worry about.
