    Skill building early on.

I have been at FFR for two days now, it is official, I am hooked. I have played about 40 games, and can run an entire board on Beginner, Very easy, and do well on easy, running Moonlight Sonata the whole way only once so far, but close every time. What does everyone suggest for getting better? Should I continue playing easy untill I have them really nailed down, or will I find more progress going for harder skilled ones that I am not as good at?

Historically what have other members done to become better? Any help well appreciated.

    Thanks!

the most important thing to do is just play alot
if you cant pass a song, its too hard for now
once you can full combo most songs youll stop improving as fast but for a while just playing alot is all you need to do

Hrm, My first try I passed FF7 Battle, but it doesn't look pretty. Ill end up with about 350 perfects, 250 Goods, 30 Aves and Couple hundred misses and boos. Do you think Working on that or a standard would be more benficial? Or getting ace at the easy ones, they just don't seem as exciting anymore

      Playing a lot shouldn't be a problem

Well... what i did was jsut played a bunch of variety of songs, focusing on the easy ones till i got good enough to try the harder ones. Im not the greatest player, but i can do OK.

P.S. I just recently started to play stepmania and i have already seen an improvment in my FFR. I dunno, it could just be me but i learned the BPM and how the notes are spaced down using stepmania and I have been getting more perfects when i play the songs. I used to be really jumpy, like I am when i have caffiene > <

Thanks, where do I go about getting my mitts on stepmainia? I tried a search, and stepmania.com... to little avail.

Get stepmania if you want to get better quickly. www.stepmania.com it is there, go to downloads.

Play with 2 hands. I would suggest playing with 4 fingers, but you could use 2 aswell (index's)

Play hard songs. Playing stuff that challenges you will improve your speed and skill.

                And yea...just play regularly.

Playing stuff that you think is fun also helps a bunch. I play Beatmania IIDX, and I've been playing a bunch of the stuff I like, and my skill shot WAY WAY up! And yes, I recommend that you get Stepmania too, it definitely helped me get to where I am now.
