        Re: Hello =D

Thank you all for the very warm welcome. =D Very much appreciated.

Not that I plan on becoming one soon, how can you become a moderator? I'm assuming just to post helpful posts, be nice, etc, and then you'll be hand-picked by admins. Right?

        Thanks in advance.

Addition: I was just reading through a sticky about challenging: What are the advantages and disadvantages regarding challenges; and, do you lose points if you decline a challenge, etc.

Yes, if you play alot, are good at the game, help alot of people out, be nice, etc. then you have a bigger chance of an admin choosing you to be a mod. Hope you have fun here!

Thanks for the info. I'm actually one of those lucky ones who are chosen to be a mod at most of the forums I am a member of.

Also, postwhoring is bad if you want to become a moderator. You see, even if someone has 60k posts, he might not be a moderator. I won't ever be a moderator for that reason.

I definetly know how annoying it is to have someone 'postwhoring' - I'm a member of a few forums.

I see that people have different messages under their username, such as "Senior Member" or "Uncertified Postwhore" - Is there a FAQ or other type of information about that?

Thank you all for the advice - very appreciated.

PS: I'd like to submit a song to be used in FFR, however I'm not allowed to post in that forum - are there requirements to be met, or is it closed?

To have a custom title under your username for the forums, you must first become a subscriber.

                      http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/payments.php to become a subscriber.

Subscribers gain quite a few useful additional features- early access to SotWs (song of the week) before everybody else does, the CT like I mentioned, extra stats, etc. You can tell if someone is a suscriber if they have their username bolded or whatever (like gabgabo's).

Also, try to avoid double posting.

                      *EDIT*

It's closed- if you mean submitting an actual song itself, you should state in the Songs/Permission Subforum (FFR R1 General Talk) that you give FFR permission to use the song(s). A stepartist would come by (such as myself), listen to the song, and possibly step the song. A stepfile goes through a judging process, and if the file meets their standards, it goes into the queue, waiting to get in-game.

If you have a stepfile for a song, get it tested here (if it's actually a file you care about): http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=82535 and then submit it to [email protected]. You can see what the judges say about the file here: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=74550 and you can discuss the batch/queue here: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=58177. People submit files to one batch. After the deadline for the batch is over, the judges test the files in that batch, while others continue stepping and submitting to the next batch. A queued file typically takes a couple of months to be put in-game.

Adding on- a junior member, I think, is a member that has less than 99 posts, a member is someone that has 100-499, and a senior member has 500+ posts. I'm not sure about this, though.

I think you're right. And an Uncertified Postwhore has 10,000 posts.

The forum mods have a bunch of posts anyway, and have probably been here for years or are really liked by the admins. I think they're all over eighteen years old too, so, I guess that makes them liable for the job, more responsible - not biased towards any members like teenagers tend to be.

And most people who quest to become mods (in secrecy or publicly) often don't become one. This goes the same for Multiplayer and Vid Chat mods too, I suppose.
