Re: Helping newbies or not helping newbies
Of course we should, it's bringing more people into the community.
Exemple:
Bob is new and want tips.
Good: Bob, welcome to FFR and read the stickies. Bob will be a long-term member.
Bad: Gtfo dumbass. Bob will gtfo.
Anyways, be nice to the newbies and if you hate them, just don't stick around the Newbie Forum. -
Re: Helping newbies or not helping newbies
while you should be nice and helpful to new users anywhere on the site, we all know that isn't going to happen.
but, especially here, newbies are kings. they ask, we answer. it's that simple. you mouth off, you get beheaded. being nice to new users, answering their questions... that leads to them staying on the site and having a better experience and coming back. be an asshole, and why would they want to stay?RIPComment

We of course should help them if the issue does not involve giving them credits.

Re: Helping newbies or not helping newbies
I've helped plenty of people on this site and they haven't turned out better than me yet, and if they do, good for them, they worked hard and they deserve it.
Are you saying you don't want people willing to help you? You are (no offense) a newbie yourself. What if nobody offered any kind words to you; wouldn't this place just turn you off?
Anyway, welcome aboard.Comment
