how do i get them to show up on my profile page and when i post something in the forums?

first of all, read the stickies, and rules, and faqs
because this should be already addressed.
if not, then you have to have a certain type or format (gif works best for me)
and a certain width x length for it to work.
your profile banner can be edited from your profile. its at the top right area
go to your forum settings and edit your signature to edit that, and add a picture. it should have an uploader.
