If a song I am trying to AAA had a harder part in that I cant usually get all perfects in, should I play through the whole song each time or would it be worth just restarting after the hard part until I can do it?
Thanks
Yeah, if you can't already full combo that song, it would be worthwhile practice to keep going through the song. If you can full combo the song but you are getting a large number of goods or boos, it is also worthwhile to keep going. It actually helps to learn the patterns of the songs and after a few plays, the trickier patterns should become easier.

If it's a really long song, and you can do everything after the hard part consistently, then there's not much of a reason to keep playing afterwards. If you just seem to randomly mess up once in a while, but on different sections (that you otherwise do perfectly), then you can use auto-fail to end the song quickly.
But if you can't do everything afterwards consistently, then just keep playing it until you can.
