I get the idea that a AAA is VERY good. But how exactly do you get it?

A AAA is the best you can get on FFR.

You get it by hitting every arrow in the song as a Perfect.

No goods, no boos, no misses, no averages.

Some songs have glitched notes so the AAA is the highest possible score.

You're forgetting about songs that are impossible to AAA, like 100 Bar Blackout and Crystalis.

Technically, the above requirements constitute a PFC (Perfect Fullcombo). A AAA is just the best possible score for a song.

Typically, a AAA is hitting every arrow and getting perfects on all of them, and not getting any boos. On some songs, though, getting all perfects is impossible. All of these songs are pretty difficult (except 100 Bar Blackout and maybe FF7), though, so you shouldn't need to worry about that for a while.
