In-depth Analysis of a Forum Ban.

    What is a Forum Ban?

A forum ban is given when you break any rules from here.

Note: The punishment can be increased under certain circumstances.

    Characteristics of a Forum Ban.

If you did break any of the rules, then you will get a personalized message by the person who banned informing you why you got banned.

This will appear on the screen when you try to go on any page that is related to the forums.

    - Avatar Changes
    - Subscription
    - Etc.

Since you now have this handicap, you may be tempted to make a new account and start posting. This is considered ban evading and we do not need another ban evader.

Ban evading will get your Forum Ban extended. (Refer to the Announcement)

    Advantages of a Forum Ban

There are not any advantages of a ban.

You get a nifty "Banned" instead of your normal Registered User status as shown below. (Not necessarily an advantage, but most non-subscribers are tired of their old status.)

You also get this below your empty avatar in your profile.

There is not much advantages from a ban because of one reason: It is a punishment.

The ban is there to make sure you have enough time to think over what you have done to deserve the ban and is certainly nothing to be proud of.

    Disadvantages of a Forum Ban

    Oh where do I begin...

First of all, since it is a forum ban. Therefore, you are banned from the forum. Pretty straightforward.

You are also restricted from many other features other than just the forums.

    - You cannot post on anyone's wall. (This includes your own)

    - You cannot comment on anyone's random thought.
    (This includes your own)

    -
You cannot comment on the feed on the front page.

    - Your cannot edit your profile's information or banner.

(Please note that you can see the button, but nothing will happen when you press it making you unable to change your banner. It is also the only thing that appears on that page.)

    -
You will be missing everything in the box marked "Username's Details" except the homepage.

    - You will be missing all your profile photos even though they are actually there. They will reappear after you are unbanned.

(They are actually still there except you will not be able to see them from that link. You can click on one of their pictures and keep clicking the picture to see the next one though.)

Note: You can post in other people's videos, but this feature might get removed soon.

Oh my god *insert name from
here or here* Banned me. What do I do?

If your ban is not a permanent one and will be ended in a reasonable time period, I suggest you go ahead and wait it out without ban evading.

If your ban is a permanent one, then I suggest you go
here and see what other people would do if they were in your shoes.

I strongly suggest that you do not go and start flaming the person who banned you, because that will get your ban extended.

    Too long, Didn't read Version

If you have any interest in what it is like to get banned, then get your lazy asses up the page and read it.

To summarize, do not get banned. It is a pain in the ass to wait out.

DO NOT GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO GET BANNED. THAT IS CONSIDERED BAITING AND YOU WILL DIE.

Trivia: b7 and b& = Banned. This is because & = and, and b + and = band which sounds like banned. Basic math. b7 is when someone gets too lazy to press shift. Also, if someone posts a picture of a band, do not be clueless and not know what is going on.

P.S. Boredom + No life = New thread

              Fishy Sticking.

Honestly, I see no point to this really. What are your intentions for this post? Just to tell people what they can't do if they're banned? I think it would be pretty obvious anyway.

This definitely shouldn't be stickied. Most of that stuff is really obvious, plus they wouldn't be able to see this if they got banned, and most bad people wouldn't be good enough to read something like this before getting banned.

=/ People are harsh. There are a lot of people who do try to fish for stickies, but what's wrong with that? If someone does come up with something good, then it will be a benefit for everyone to have that thread stickied. Congratulate him for taking the time to do this analysis, not mock him.

@freakysnots: Good job from me. Maybe you'd like to include some other details like listing the forum mods, and linking all the forum rules. (And maybe the other stickies as well.)

If anyone should write this is should be you, seeing as youv been banned before haha

I would vote for sticking this, only because theres always curious noobs that want to know if something theyv done will get them banned. I've seen 20 threads+ about going over AAA and asking if they will get banned or not

I do agree with that, as I do remember when people said bad things about something like this I spent forever on that kind of was fishing for a sticky. Gj freakysnots. I just don't think the information is that important or asked often enough to be worthy of a sticky, but it by no means bad.

Exactly, it was a very nice post and we all thank you for taking your time out to do something for the FFR community. But as Doug said, it's not important enough to be stickied.
