If you play spread/4-finger style (2 hands) you will get better faster than if you use any other style, and you will be able to play faster songs while getting better pa (perfect attack) in the long run. This is the best way because you don't have to move your fingers at all and it's naturally a lot faster and easier than using 1 hand.

Basic rules of thumb: Don't spam forums, don't flame mods, I'm pretty sure that I don't need to say anymore cause it's common sense.

For FFR playing: I approve of the 2 handed method that Fido speaks of. It's very effective when playing fast songs because your hand doesn't scream in pain as a one-handed player would. And I know this cause I play all the popular styles, index, 3-fingered two handed, spread, 3-fingered one handed, 2-fingered one handed; hell--I even played 4-fingered one handed.

yea but i started with index cant switch now haha, just gives me a better challenge, id like to think im a decent index player.

I play using the num pad
It works kinda like this (for me)
..8
4..6
..2

2=Left index
4=Left middle
8=right index
6=Right middle

It helps me go faster than 1 hand, and so I'm not tangling my fingers on a small pad of arrow keys.

I think the best way to try spread that doesn't involve downloading a keymapping program is to use:

keypad left - left middle finger
keypad down - left index finger
numpad 8 - right middle finger (Or right index)
numpad 6 - right ring finger (Or right middle)
