    Finger style

I'm able to do difficult songs without a problem

I use my left hand for the left arrow key, and then right index for the other 3

I can see how this would effect things like:

because I can't do them. should i change it? ive played like 2,800 games in 2 months with this and im stuck to it

Try index because staircases are really easy on index!

      Re: Finger style

Index is a lot easier for staircases, or one hand two fingers.

I've also been playing with speedmods (1.5x), they make it seem easier >.>

I play index. Let me give you the pros and cons.

          Pros:

--You'll be good at stream (particularly staircases)
--You'll have a very nice PA (for the most part; this isn't true for everyone)
--Trills shouldn't be as much of a problem for you as it may be for other positions

          Cons:

--Index is more draining on your fingers than spread
--You won't be as good at crossovers
--Jumpstream is much harder for an index player than it is for a spread player.

You choose what you want to do. If you don't want to play index, I suggest playing spread.

Here are some pros and cons of spread:

            Pros:

--Jumpstream is a lot easier and can be PA'd with little difficulty
--PA tends to be a little bit better on most songs than if you play index
--It is much easier to combo stream, because you do not have to worry if it is a crossover or not
--If you are stuck on a part, it is much easier to mash playing spread

            Cons:

--Good luck with long runningmen or trills
--Sometimes your PA gets screwy if you play songs that have a lot of 1 handed parts in it
--Long streams that are index friendly tend to be a little more difficult

Alright, basically what I was stating in my post said I was playing index with a little twist, it isn't much different.

I tried spread, and its hard to get used to. I'm gonna keep trying though.

Switching from one-hand three finger to spread was a rough transition for me too, I found the best thing to do to learn spread was do songs you barely ever did with your old style.

The old habits die pretty hard, and I would fail out of songs I could FC 3-finger at first.

Hmm, ok, but I can only do standard, tricky, and difficult songs. And I've been on this difficulty so long, I think i've played em all

well what you could do is become hybrid and practice index first since your basically doing a bootleg index, and then transition to spread and stick with that or stick with index, if you do this you have a choice of doing both without practicing to hard.

Do both. I know that I play spread and for running men and fast trills I switch over to index when possible.

My trick isnt the best but it should help you get through. I can almost full combo challenging songs with 1 hand.

                        Try this :

                        UP(middle finger)
LEFT(finger left to ur middle finger) DOWN(middle finger) RIGHT(finger on the right side of ur middle finger)

When doing the up/down double note use index for down and middle finger for up.

                        Works very well for me

This is what I do and it gets me through a few challenging songs:
                          left: index
                          right: ring
up/down: middle on up/down combos, stick my middle finger straight out and push down
What do ya'll think about this?
