    Tips on Technique Please

Im a 3 fingered player and im having a lot of trouble handling the faster notes in songs when it goes 'up' 'down' 'up' 'down'.

Obviously since I have only one finger for both keys. I was wondering if its recommended at all to actually use my index on the down key and that way handle those faster combos?

I have tried getting better a lot but I dont seem to be making much progress. The other option I thought about was trying to move my whole hand rather than just the middle finger so that I can get from up to down and vice versa faster. (I think I already do this to some extent.)

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

        Don't consider.
        Do.
Switch to spread, it's a pain at first but it pays off in the long run.

Yes, wonderful, its being/been considered. If anyone considers posting this option a third time, dont bother. I'm looking for some tips with one hand at the moment, not a style competition thread.

When I play one handed (not most of the time, but I'll use it when trying to AAA sometimes) I find it best to move my index finger to the down arrow for "up,down,up,down" and for updown jumps.

That's just me though, so just try different stuff until you find something comfortable for you.

Question: Are you generally resting your wrist on your desk/whatever when you play? I found while I still played 3-finger, that while doing so helped some aspects of playing (Rather like holding the bar on DDR) actually holding your hand suspended in the air, not resting on anything makes the rightward lateral movement a lot easier if you're going to try and go to index - down, middle - up on the faster chains.

Also, if you do take the other bit of advice everyone was giving you, and switch to spread, -expect- that not only will you start off doing less well than usual, but on songs you play -often- with 3-finger, not only will you do worse, you'll likely fail out repeatedly. It gets better. Surprisingly quickly even.
