Navigating FFR (AKA The Button Thread)

Welcome, one and all, to The Button Thread. This helpful thread shall run you through each of the exciting buttons that you may find on the FFR website and forums.

Hopefully this will help you out in learning how to navigate around the forums and the website itself. It shall be split into sections concerning where buttons can be found. Ok, on to the buttons!

    The Forum / Website

    FFR1: THE GAME

    - Self Explanatory, lets you play FFR1: The Game.

    FFR2

    - Pretty simple again, lets you play R2.

    RESONANCE

    - Takes you to resonance where you can look at simfiles and test them before downloading them to play on Stepmania.

    SPIN-IT-UP

    - Lets you play Spin-It-Up, a very fun mouse orientated game.

    METRIVIA

    - Takes you to Metrivia, a fun quiz-type forum owned by FFR.

    COLLAPSE SECTION

    - Lets you collapse that section from view. I.E. This button beside "Chit Chat" will allow you to hide Chit Chat from view.

    WHO IS ONLINE?

    - Double click this icon at the bottom of the FFR main forum page to see who is online and what they are currently doing.

    BIRTHDAYS

    - View the birthdays of the current day.

    NEW THREAD

    - This button allows you to create a new thread and can be found in every section of the FFR Forums. Be sure to follow the rules of each individual section before making a thread.

    CONTENTS MARKED

    - Double Clicking this icon beside the forum section of your choice will allow you to mark all posts as "read". This is handy when using the "New Posts" link as it will not show you that section's posts.

    On Posts

    QUOTE

    - This button can be found at the bottom right of every post and allows you to quote the post in your reply. For example, if you push the quote button at the bottom of my post here then you will be taken to the "reply" page which will have my entire post included.

This is handy as it saves time in copying and pasting.

    POST REPLY

    - This button will be at the top and bottom of every page of every thread on the forum and, when pushed, allow you to post a reply. It is different to the quick reply button in that it brings you to a new page for your reply, rather than to the bottom of the page you were viewing.

    QUICK REPLY BUTTON

    - This button can be found on every post beside the QUOTE button at the bottom right of every post. This button will take you to the quick reply box at the bottom of the page.

    EDIT

    - This button will only appear on your own posts but can be used to edit your post and can also let you delete it.

    - Petition for people to use the edit button: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=61927

    USER AVAILABILITY
    Offline:
    Online:
    Invisible:

    - Lets you see if someone is offline (blank) or online (green). Only subscribers and staff can see if someone is invisible (red).

    REPORT

    - This button allows you to report a thread for whatever reason you see fit, just be sure to follow the guidelines as to how you should report a thread (spam, advertising, etc.)

    - Petition for people to use the report button: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=71674

    NEW POSTS

    - When clicked will take you to the first post in the thread that you have not read since your last visit to the forum. This can be found just below the "POST REPLY" button.

    AIM

    - This person has AIM.

    MSN

    - This person has MSN Hotmail.

    YAHOO

    - This person has YAHOO Messenger.

I feel that is sufficient to get you started in your FFR Forum days. Have fun. Oh, and if you ever need any button explained that I haven't mentioned, then by all means bring it to my attention and I'll add it to this thread for future people to be helped by.

More like wanting to stop the dime a dozen "button" threads.

Though I do feel this is useful in a sticky sort of way.

I first thought this was a GB thread to flame that guy who make the report button thread, and here I was with this witty comment all set up to make me look cool.

Then I look up, and its in the newbie forum.

Are they both not links? Where is there a PM button or search button? Get me those and by all means I will add them.

since the creation of the edit button and the report button threads exist, mind putting the urls under those spots for some more info on them?

your thread and your post. just saying.
