Hey guys, confused about song selection

So I just started playing FFR after realizing how much downtime I had at this internship I'm participating at in a university. Anyway, there is a really nice variety of genres, and I haven't even looked through most of the songs yet, but are some from actual artists (my wording may be wrong, but I mean artists that have CDs out, etc). Not trying to diss those that make music specifically for FFR.

Also, when going to the main page on the site, I noticed you can play FFR Revolution, Revolution2, etc etc. What are all those types of different modes? Thanks

Edit - One last thing. When I click on a topic in the forums, I'm automatically brought to the first page, but it looks as if the first page isn't ON the first page. Example:

There is a sticky about a beginners guide to FFR. When you click it, you expect the first post to be the actual guide to the game, and the other post saying comments such as "nice guide", "please sticky!", etc. Well, when I click the topic I won't see the guide on the first page, it's quite odd. I hope you guys get what I'm saying

I think a few songs like 'Wish for FFR' and other songs like that were made for FFR as well as another few but most are artists we got permission from here and the stepfiles are player made. Also R2 and Resonance are newer...more homosexual versions of FFR. Stick with R1

Thanks. Also, I figured out my last problem. Just had to change a setting in the options portion of the forums.

So, I just checked out FFR Resonance and it seems that people can upload their own music. I actually saw some Aphex Twin and loaded the song, but there were no arrows so I couldn't play the game, but I did infact hear music. Very odd

yeah, some songs do that, because resonance isn't actually a real game, its a beta, and it has some errors that probably won't be fixed

People actually make the steps. If you upload music you also need to upload the steps to go along with it, steps aren't just automatically generated upon upload of a song.

Stepmania has an editor for stepping songs, check it out if you want your own music to have steps to it.
