    Speed help

sup guys, youneedsleep here, i'm trying to fc cia rave atm but i can't keep up with the continuous speed of the arrows (fingerwise, reading the arrows isn't a problem). Any tips on how to improve finger speed/endurance besides the obvious? (practice... practice... practice...)

screen cutting dosen't help, b/c i don't have a problem reading, just hitting

    appreciate it

Learn how to make it so screencutting does help, and learn spread if you haven't already.

CIA Rave really isn't a fast song, so if you can't keep up with it I'm guessing you play 1-handed. If you say you can read it fine, then the only thing you need to do right now is learn spread.

Spread is playing with two fingers from each hand, and having at most 2 of those on the arrow keys. One way is using the numpad for 8 and 6, and having your other hand on the arrow keys for left and down. With AutoHotKey, you can do this kind of thing with any keys you want, which is also considered spread. Spread is how almost all of the best players play.

Everyone will tell you this... Honestly I was stubborn and didn't listen till a few weeks ago. Now i'm at least 10 times better after making those changes.

Hmm, I'm not much of a noob, but I'm also no expert. I use spread, but I don't screen cut. Is it something that should help immediately on all levels, or is it kinda like going from 1 hand to 2 hand where it will take some time to get used to, but once you do it will help a bunch? In other words, does it take practice to use it?

                      Re: Speed help

                      so for spread i'm trying
                      left (arrow) - l.middle
                      down (arrow) - l.index
                      up (num8) - r.middle
                      right (num6) - r.ring

the right hand is fine, but the left is a little slow, what kinda fingering do you all use for spread?

also, i'm not saying screen cutting dosen't help, i use it most of the time, but i don't really see how it would help fingering speed

it seems like its usless at first, but it really helps.
I really couldn't play without cutscreen now, theres too many arrows!

and for CIA Rave you must be able to play spread just practice it no matter how much it seems the same as one hand at first.

It'll help immediately on songs rated Very Difficult and above. Songs that are Difficult and below are manageable without screen shrinking.

Your reaction time improves as you go on. Over time you'll shrink your screen more and more..
