    one hander help

k, i play one handed. i cant do 2 handed. maybe with alot of practice, but i grew on one hand...so, the only prolblem ive had with 1 hand is the doubles...like, mainly the up and down ones...and switching from double to double...what are the ways you do? how do you place your fingers? and what fingers push what when you do doubles???

You have to be a little more specific. But the best way to get better is to practice.

Don't know if it'll help you but I play with my keyboard titled at damn near 45 degrees and I play 3 fingers.

On some songs some certain players can switch from using 3 fingers to using two. I can't, just feels too odd.

But yea, practice. The only way to learn how to do them.

Practice is all you can really do, and honestly, most people start on one hand then move to 2 hand then move to spread, but sometimes it's best to get your rhythm down with one hand first and just learn the basics. 2 hands will be easier later on, and for some people they just chose to completely master 1 handing and dominate it, but it all comes with time. If you're looking for a game that takes a few days to master, then you'll be sorely disappointed

an examnple is like Straight to video...i can get the \//\ and < > ones right, but when it does the set of other ones, i just cant do it...i dunno how. for the left and right, i use my index and ring finger. and for the up and down, i use middle and thumb...i know thats prolly not right, but i just dont knwo how to do it the best way, and how to skip around alot. practive..yeah, ive played it like 50 billion times...my girlfriend just played it today and she could do it good. one hand. i mean, not perfect, but better than me. if she tried, she could prolly get a better score than me just the next time she playes.

so whats wrong? am i doing it right? or am i just born to suck?

I play one-handed, but not four finger. I play with three fingers, using my index for left, middle for up AND down, and ring for right. That serves okay, except in some situations. To handle up/down jumps, I usually switch my index to cover the down arrow while my middle covers the up. It's not the best way, but it's what I am accustomed to, and works perfectly fine on easier songs. As for the non-standard jumps (like left/down or up/right), I don't really have a hard time. Just keep practicing, as everyone else said.

And really, spread is probably the best way to go, since you can handle so much more with it. But if you don't want to make that jump, it's okay. And if you choose to, don't rush. Oh, and have fun. That IS important.
