What to do after you step a file?

I recntly found a song i wanted to put on FFR and used stepmania to make it. the song is done, but wen i try to play it on sm, it always plays in the auto feature, so no matter wat i do, it perfectly does the notes on its own. not only that, how do i give this song to ffr to maybe counted as a new song? very confused and have never made a song before.

If and only if FFR has the rights to the song, you can submit it e-mail it to tasselfoot, to try to get it included in FFR. If they don't have the rights to it, you can still submit it to the simfile database, but either way, you'll need to zip the whole file before you send it. If you read the first post of some threads made by tasselfoot, you should be able to find out everything else you need to know. Mainly "Step Songs for FFR" and "FFR Blanket Permissions (Songs you can step for FFR), or something like that, and they're both stickies. I also believe you can turn off autoplay by going into options then gameplay options.

winzip is used to ZIP files. Get it off the .com if you're willing to shell out 30 bucks. It's the best zipping system out there anyway.

Then just go to download.com and get a free trial. Most likely your file won't get accepted anyways unless it's amazing. I'd recommend just putting it on the database like Doug said.

You can't let a song in just because. If you have full permission to use it, then you can, but if you don't, and FFR uses the song and steps (which in a newbs case is not very likely), they could be sued for copyright infringement. And that wouldn't be very good, would it?

Also, about the ZIP file, right click the folder that all the files for the song are in, scroll down to Send To..., and on/near the very top, there should be an option to create a ZIP folder. Click it.

After your file is zipped, go to somewhere like www.rapidshare.com or www.yousendit.com

Yousend it is easier because you can input someone'e e-mail address and it will send the file directly to them. With rapidshare, you have to upload it, copy the link, and then either PM or e-mail the link to whichever admin you're sending it to.
