You have to host it online first. Try hosting it at www.photobucket.com
Then, get the URL of the picture, and put [ img ] in front of the URL, and [ /img ] after... it will then show up wherever you want it to. It's called BBCode.
NOTE: Remove spaces from the code.

Try this. Upload the small image to your profile. From your profile, navigate to the image, right click it, and click on view image. Go to the url at the top of your browser and select/copy that direct url to the image. Then, put [.img] and [./img] around the url in your sig, without .'s in the img tags.
