My first combo was Breaking the Common. I played it about 50 times before I got the doubles down. And of course I thought I did great yet, 'twas not so.

And playing DDR seems to help on reading the steps on the harder songs to me.

I've never played DDR. I've watched it. But A. I am a chick, B. I fear public humiliation, and C. I don't want to waste quarters on a game that I'm not going to be good at.

A) What does being a female have to do with anything?
B) For the most part, so do I, but you can't please everyone
C) Practice at it. I rarely get any arcade time, and I'm half-decent for a n00b (I'm on Light Mode).

Putting it in letter terms like you did:
A - It doesn't matter what gender you are, I have seen some pretty decent girl DDR players
B - This is why there was a home version invented so people could humiliate themselves in the comfort of their own homes.
C - How would you know you aren't good at it if you have never played it?

B) FFR still isn't the real thing. In fact, FFR is what got me interested in DDR.
C) Then keep playing and get better at it. As I said before, I'm not such a hotshot myself, but I've improved.

You know, this has gotten much more intense than I intended. The fact of the matter is that I don't really want to and it's no big deal. It just means that because I've never played any step-type games before it'll take me longer to be good at this one.

The new difficulty system:
1. Easiest
2. For Beginners
3. Very Easy
4. Easy
5. Standard
6. Tricky
7. Difficult
8. Very Difficult
9. Challenging
10. Very Challenging
11. For Masters Only
12. For Guru's Only (the apostrophe isn't grammatically correct, but it is present in the game)
13. (blank)

I think that 13 should be called hardest. A long time ago, though, I thought up that the hardest difficulty should be called For Nima Only.

Actually, this game DOES have a difficulty of one now. Check Trip to the Moon or Mario.

I had no intention of being intense. I'm trying to convince you that if you keep trying at the game, eventually you'll improve. Hell, even FFR took me a while (3 years, really).

I've been playing for a day and a half or so. Got FC's on 3 songs so far. No AA's or AAA's though. :X

And I rank surprisingly low with an FC.

That is because to get the top rank, on most songs you needs to get a FC and all perfects (PFC a.k.a AAA)

What happend to 1?

It doesnt have a once foot(or bar in this case) difficulty. It starts at two and proceeds to 13 I believe. Maybe more for the No Named ones, can't remember.
