yay n00b questions

lol, yup, I have some questions.

1: How can I set it up to where I can use letters for my spread layout on FFR? not resonance, but FFR itself. (NEVERMIND, found it)

2: my internet used to run like a beauty when I first got it and FFR MP didn;t lag at all.... now it's lagging like HELL and I've cleared cookies, history, everything to try to get it running better on MultiPlayer. does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get my internet running faster?

3: ok, this is probably my biggest problem liek EVER- When I'm playing Stepmania or any other installed game on here, I'll be able to play for 10 minutes and my computer will all of a sudden shut down... my computer ays it's unintentional. Has anyone heard of a virus that does this? The reason I'm asking is because I've tried scanning my computer for viruses and whenever it's scanning for more than 3 minutes that shuts off my computer as well, so I can;t tell if it's a virus or my computer's screwey as hell....

4:... how much is a laptop on average? lol..... (don't answer this one, THIS was the n00b question)

If you can answer the first question, than thank you very much. if you can give me suggestions on what to do for the second one and it works, I'll give you 100 credits

but OMG if you answer the 3rd one and whatever yo suggest to do about it works, I will friggin give you every single credit I have.... liek ever. I will be your personal FFR B**** if it works. srsly.

I have the exact same problems, I'm really laggy and my other computer doesn't work. It's so annoying. I'm pretty sure that we have a virus tho so It probably isn't the same thing. Sorry but I don't know how to help you. If I do find out though... I'l be sure to tell you

1. you found AutoHotKey?

2. do you see the little Q near the top of the game window? if you click that it changes the quality of the resolution. lower the quality, the better it should run.

3. no ideas...

4. desktops are better for playing FFR/SM than laptops. bigger keys. but, you can find laptops anywhere from 300 on up, depending on quality and features.

Response to 1: Yup, found it.

Response to 2: I use the little Quality changer all the time. I figured out that it's because I have one of the crappiest video cards EVER (only has 64MB on it... LOL), which answers the nest question-

Response to 3: I found out that my video card is crashing on me, thus why I can't use applications that take alot of visual memory. THAT and I also have the worst RAM ever (248 MB of RAM). My friend tells me to either buy those 2 things (a new vid carm and more RAM) or to just build my own computer for roughly about $2000 and have it run like God himself.

4: I found the laptop I wanna buy, so yup
