Newb, shorthand for "newbie", is the general term for someone that is new to something.
"Noob" (also n00b) is the disrespectful version of newb.
Both newbs and noobs are new to whatever they recently started.
The difference?
A newb will take the time to listen to other members and learn from their mistakes.
Noobs/n00bs tend to have a "I'm god stfu" attitude and don't listen to anyone and make themselves look like an ass while posting.
