Uh you have to wait until the "You are now connected to Multiplayer" shows up.
Some times of the day it takes a few minutes.

Also, your connection might prevent the type of traffic that FFR sends over port 8080 (Although most content providers do allow it). If you're trying from school, or your router has overprotective settings, it might not let you connect to Multiplayer at all.
You can always play single player though
