    Trills, and timing

I've been playing SM and FFR for about 3 years now, with lots of breaks. I would consider myself an OK player, but there are a couple of things that always bring down my score. One is timing. Am I right in assuming that if I just play enough, I'll get better? The other issue that I have are trills. I can do slower ones all right, but on really fast and long ones like those near the end of melonman's eruption, all I can do is button mash. It's not just URURURUR and LDLDLDLD trills that get me, on the other ones I just get offbeat and break my combo.

Are there any songs you guys would reccomend to practice trills? I play a regular four finger setup on the numpad.

    RE: Trills, and timing

for the trills just keep practicing, your fingers will get faster, alhough if they are too fast then ya, its impossible on a 4 finger setup, its probly best to learn both index AND 4 finger setup, and switch off depending on the song style. and as for your timing...just listen to the music, it should be spot on with it...unless the stepfile sucks

well if he switches to index, its still the same problem

I know what you're talking about. I have it too. The back and forth trills between hands going offbeat. I'm working on it, its mostly just repeated practice that will do the trick.

i guess i just dont have much of a timing problem, but indexers are known for accuracy and timing so it might help, you never know =/
