soorry to seem so stupid but i was playing multiplayer and i made no mistakes and neither did the guy.. however his combo number was higher than mine? am i playing differently? am i supposed to hold the key for longer or something?

He probably cheated and hit a glitched arrow before the music started. That would give him a higher combo than is possible otherwise.

I suggest you PM the user and yell at him for being unfair. I don't think there's any more than can be done about it.
