A question regarding beat. Having a big problem.

I have a problem when there is for example a long string of arrows close together and steps to the side of that, I simply can't for the life of me keep hitting that string to play out the parallel steps.

I even tried to just keep same beat with one finger and tried different beat with the other but the finger that does faster beat just stops. (Reflex) maybe, was wondering is there a way to cure this problem?

RE: A question regarding beat. Having a big problem.

Well playing with two hands will help you in this case

don't think of the arrows as a big long string
Usually what you're thinking of is a cross over ( I think )

looking at the number pad, if what you're thinking of is like a
    426242624
    or
    484248424
    or
    484648464
    etc.etc.

    those are crossovers
don't think of it as 1 arrow on a long string with others next to it
think of it as arrows in order.
    take 426242624 for example

every other arrow is a 2, so hit 4 THEN 2 then 6 then 2
don't think of it as a bunch of 2s with 4 and 6 on the side

I'm sorry if this is not what you are talking about
    - be more specific if I'm interpreting this incorrectly

      I am playing spread, right hand(index = up)(middle = right), left hand(index = down)(middle = left)

I dont use Num Pad btw I just use the arrow pad to the left and never thought of them as numbers or directions I just acknowldge and tap. In anycase in my later example where I showed being unable to tap at differnt beat at same time either with 1 hand or 2 hands, my fingers try to mimic each others beat and when I try forcibly to not do that, either a reflex kicks in and doesn't allow me to do that or I am untrained to it.

Another example would be a piano, I am unable to play Chords and do Melody at same time, it's like something kicks me and stops me... was wondering if there a way to overcome this problem.

Maybe he was referring to stuff like 424248484646...those are a pain in the ass for me, but I like to think I'll nail them someday. Just keep practicing.

I play on Stepmania too, as I've mentioned I play 4 fingers spread, usually on C400 and my biggest problem is Voltage.. it always ranks lowest. Any advice on what songs I should practice on to improve faster. As for being able to tap a stream of arrows, my 4 fingers are equally fast or so it seems to me, but still haven't overcame that problem of holding 2 beats at same time. Maybe in time I will be able to overcome.. I hope.

Ok, if by "my biggest problem is Voltage" you mean that at the end of the song the Voltage meter is always really low then listen up.

"Voltage" as it's known, is the maximum intensity of the steps throughout the entire song, however, Voltage on the end result screen is shows your greatest fraction of the maximum combo. So to increase your voltage meter you do not nessecarily have to get better at voltage. Just work on getting fewer CBs (Combo Breakers (Goods, Boos, Misses)).
