Highest combo wins?

i was playing multiplayer against some dude on CIA rave and he got a 100 combo at the beginning and then failed right after he got i passed the song easily with my highest combo as a 70 somethin and i had way more perfects but he still won. Does this mean ho ever gets the highest combo wins?

Pretty much. Combo is weighted so heavily that it's nearly impossible to win if your combo is much less.

Ok, this is how it breaks down.

During gameplay:

Perfect = 50
Good = 25
Average = 5
Miss = -10

Then at the end of the score it counts how many of each you had and works it like this:

Perfect * 500
Good * 250
Average * 50
Combo * 1000

Then subtract this:

Miss * 300

and then add the in game score to this total to get your final score. Obviously combos are a big deal.

Notice that combo is worth two times as much as perfects.

Not quite. Put the scoring systems used during and after the level together and you have this:

Perfects x 550
Goods x 275
Averages x 55
Boos x -5
Misses x -310
Max Combo x 1000

Now you see why mashing is so rampant. Anyone with a brain would rather take a boo and make sure they hit an arrow than take a chance and lose their combo. The fact that boos decrease your life bar helps, but the life bar is still way too easy on the player. The judging also seems a little too generous, but just try telling that to someone that was one jackhammer away from FCing a song with a lot of steps like After Me or FF7 Battle.

Edit: Seriously? I'm going to have to see that for myself. :/
