I need help

Hi guys. I just joined this forum but ive been playing FFR for a couple of months. But one thing I haven't figured out is how to use the speed modifiers on the settingsin the main menu. Do I have to unlock them or something?

Sigh. The Mod's you can't pick aren't available yet. You cannot unlock them.
