I guess I should start off by saying I'm new and I'm a n00b (mainly because I stopped playing for months). On to my question: in some songs the arrows are red or yellow or something like that. What do they mean?

RE: the COLORS!
The different colors signify the different beats: 1/4, 1/8, and (I think) 1/16 notes. I can't quite remember which colors correspond to which beat (I think it is red - 1/4, blue - 1/8, and yellow - 1/16).
The reason some songs have the colored arrows and some don't is because only certain songs were recompiled to add the colored notes. Any new songs that are added will have the vivid colored arrows.
