What are "simfiles"? I downloaded one, and it came up as an empty .zip file! I read a little more, and I think simfiles are compatable with Stepmania. Are they?

try reading the Stepmania and Simulator Files forums... the stickies there should help you.
also, the ffr simfile database is down... that is why they are coming up empty.
also, you need stepmania to use a simfile. you can download simfiles at www.bemanistyle.comRIP
