Hello and a couple question ( I know ... redundant)

I would first like to say hello and awesome site. I got introduced to this site a couple days ago and now I find myself playing for hours on end (well the songs I know I can do).

I had a couple questions (bare with me, im blonde).

    1. I see that I am gaining credits. The person who introduced me to this game, I only talked to once. I have not talked to him since. He said these credits can be used to "purchase" other songs. How can I go about doing this? And if I am wrong, or pardon, he was wrong, then what are the credits good for?

    2. I as well have a few songs I think I would like to make into these games. I went to the link one of the "Help" posts provided but I was halted with a site that requires a login. Is there another link for a download and a tutorial? Or is http://www.bemanistyle.com/ about the only place to go?

    3. When does the league end?

    4. How do I play vs other people? (please remember that I am blonde - so take it slow with me :P)

I think that is about it. Again, thanks for any help someone or many can provide me.

*edit* One last question. Would anyone know why my browser keeps crashing when I am trying to submit a post?

Re: Hello and a couple question ( I know ... redundant)

    1. Currently, credits don't do anything except purchase the songs in the shop. The shop is on the main menu in the bottom right in red.

    2. There are a couple FAQs on how to make stepfiles to songs in the FFR General board, but if you want to submit it to FFR for use, remember that you must have the author's permission to use the song on the site. I highly suggest you download Stepmania from www.stepmania.com, make an account on www.bemanistyle.com in order to download stepfiles to play, and practice on Stepmania. There are FAQs for nearly everything thrown around the site as stickied posts, so you should check those out of you have questions about particular things.

    3. I guess it ends when the other poster said it does. I don't know.

    4. Browse the challenge forum for people around your skill level that are interested in challenges, go to the game, click the red button above the shop in the main menu, enter the username and wager, click 'issue challenge,' then pick and play the song you want to challenge the person on. It's not a live challenge against the other person, which is what you might have originally thought.

FFR occasionally goes down, and that may screw up IE. I would recommend you get FF as the other guy said, too, but just know you can't download songs from the FFR simfile database unless you are using IE because otherwise it screws up.

I typed this kind of quickly so if I confused you or something, tell me and I'll clarify my answers.

lol Thanks for the comment about my name.

Yeah, shortly after I posted this message I found the FFR shop and the challenge button as well. Guess it sort of sucks when you dont know many people here and your a beginner.

Thanks to you both for posting your answers to my questions. I will go and get that stepmania program and tinker with it. Gonna be hard getting permission from some of these bands as some are dead and whatnot ...

Anyway to work aound this issue?

You'd have to get permission from the people that own rights to their songs. 99% of the time it's very unrealistic to do so, so you should try to find uncopyrighted work or ask an amateur artist.

Actually, I've had FireFox, and it wouldn't let me upload songs on the game. I posted about this issue in the bugreport, but never got an answer. However, I do like the overall look of the FFR site better on FireFox then on IE.

Where would be a good place to get uncopywrited songs?

Asking an amateur artist is probably easier. There some music artists here on FFR...look around in "Static Jungle Gym" then if you like their song PM them or post in there and ask if you can step it...

IF YOU ARE THE BOMB YOU WILL CLICK THIS and if you dont, you suck.
