Is this Right? (and am I a noob)

Two questions. I did Falling into you Max Combo all perfects and 7 Goods. It tells me this is only 53 percent of the Highscore? How can 7 goods make up for 47 percent. And to am I noob? Just answer it in the poll. I know im no where near being good, but Ive mastered all the easy songs, I do fairly well on a few difficult songs like FF Battle Theme, and I can pass (barely) Breaking the Commen. Input!

You only got 47% because some people take advantage of a glitch and others hack. Also, If you can barely pass BtC, you're most definitely still a newb.

Well, considering everyone and their brother can fc BtC, I would still consider you a newb. Plus, some people can FC those songs with all perfects. And it is true what afro said about people taking advantage of glitches and such.

You gotta start somewhere.

Secret Zombie Room is where I really began to notice my skillage emerging.

I didn't realize people here based newbie-ness on skill. I thought it was more of a knowledge thing, once you got used to the place, people, rules, etiquette, etc., you weren't a newbie anymore. *shrug*

I've been getting better with practice, but a lot of stuff is still difficult for me. For example, with Breaking the Common I usually do OK at the start, it's a fast run, but it's all straight. My problem with it is that it's *long*. I'm not used to making my fingers move that fast that long and I start slipping after a while. The slower part in the middle gives me a break, but it happens again afterwards, I start OK then slip after a while. If they broke it up in smaller pieces, I'm almost certain I'd do better at it, but they didn't and I guess that's what makes it a harder song. I suppose it will take more practice. As for Secret Zombie Room, I think I'm getting quite a bit better at that. I still haven't gotten a FC, but there were times when I was pretty close, just one or two mistakes away. I'm not sure how long it will take to get the FC, but I'm like 99.9% sure it will be before I FC Breaking the Common.

I wouldn't say lack of skill necessarily means you're new to the game either, but if you want to define "newbie" that way, I can't stop you. I wouldn't though.

Think like a newer player, emccky, and compare it to lower level songs. BtC is faster than most if not all of the lower level songs I've played. The runs are quick and they last longer than anything else I've seen so far. Secret Zombie Room may be close, but I don't get tired and lose focus on that like I do with BtC so they can't be as long. I'm not good enough to play the really hard songs. I'm working my way up the levels. No, if you're really good, maybe BtC isn't hard. (And by long I meant the duration of the runs, not the total playing time of the song, BTW.) But there must be a reason so many people use it as a major milestone in measuring people's skill -- it's a hard song to do well on when you're starting out and working up the levels.
