    Quick Hello

Hi all. I saw this site mentioned on a web board I read and thought I'd give it a try. I don't play DDR, but know how it works so I knew what to expect here. It is kind of fun, but naturally as a newbie, I'm not very good. Some of the two keys at once parts get me, usually if they're not up & down or left & right, but one of each. A few in a row, especially changing, also throw me. And I can't follow some of the quicker parts. Yeah, for you experts this would be really slow, but for me it's fast and tough to follow. I've stayed mostly with the easiest levels since I know I can't do the harder ones, but tried a couple just for kicks. Man, I can't imagine how people keep up with those floods of arrows. Yet they do and these weren't even hard levels I looked at! Well, I guess it all comes with practice. I don't think I'll be devoting that much time to getting better, but this should be a fun diversion now and then. Just thought I'd say hello.

Two keys at once ---> Doubles
Few in a row ---> Runs

Just keep at it, read the faqs, and you will do fine. Welcome to the boards. I hope you have fun.

I thought the two at once was called a double, but didn't know about the "run" term. So I decided to just be descriptive. As I see more of the terminology though, I'll get used to it and start using it. I think I looked at some FAQs, I'll have to make sure I check out all of them. Thanks for the tip.

Oh, and of course when the arrows actually match notes/beats in the music it's easier. When they syncopate things, or it seems that the do because I can't hear anything in the music that matches the arrow, it's trickier. It's all practice though, isn't it?
