Hello! It's been about maybe 8 years since I last played and logged on. Man, I loved FFR. Looks like a lot has changed... I remember one version of FFR, FFR Beta and R^3 Beta but there are so many options now! Anyone wanna give me a short update what happened the past 8 years??

I always feel old being a member for nearly 8 years (though i was inactive for 5), and then I run into people like you. xD
I actually just came back as well after a few years, so I couldn't tell you much, just how overall they've added a bunch of new stuff like tokens and redesigns and improvements (and I remember when there were just red/blue/yellow arrows), though I do remember the site going down for a year or something in '09-'10. That's probably why it went from a couple thousand players at a time to a few hundred now. But the site and game sure have come a long way.

Thanks! I do have one question! But not really FFR the game related... I was probably 'theidiot' 8 years ago but I would like to say I have leveled up and increased in some intelligence points. Is changing my username as difficult as it was 8 years ago? >.> I do want to keep my game stats and history.Comment

It is, unfortunately. Staff won't move usernames/stats because it's not a simple process and they don't want to set a precedence on it for future instances (ie, doing it once becomes people complaining because they won't do it for anyone that wants a change).
If you have things tied to your account (like Veteran status or simfile author etc) they can transfer those if you make a new account, but stats can't be transferred.Comment

The game grew in popularity steadily until 2009 or so, Synth stopped paying Tass so Tass split, the site went down for more than a year, and Synth split once the site revived. What remains are a few hundred players who have stuck around.
