I've been playing for about a year and haven't really been a part of the community, so what's up? I don't really know how players compare skill but I play comfortably(like 90% plus) between 40-mid 50s difficulty songs. My problem is on some of the higher difficultly tracks I have a harder time reading/reacting (and stamina... damn flight of the bumblebees) to more complicated groupings/patterns. Just looking for any advice from some high skill players.

Re: Question on Improving
Mind posting a few scores so we can see exactly what types of patterns are tripping you up most?
If you could play Etude to a Dragon, Starlight, Divinity, and Crystal Wind, we'd be able to get a good gauge of what your strengths and weaknesses are, and can make suggestions as to what you should focus on improving from there.
The jump from mid 50s to mid 70s (where FotBB sits) is quite large, so don't worry about not being able to hit stuff at that difficulty level as well just yet, but with practice on the right types of files you should be there in no time (but no guarantees that FotBB background will be any easier to read through)

Re: Question on Improving
Might be a speedmod issue...what are you currently using as your speedmod and have you tried playing around with minor adjustments?
If you're comfortable with your current speedmod, I'd recommend actually working backwards in difficulty first prior to tackling the harder stuff (although different methods work for different people, this just worked for me personally). I wasn't able to tackle higher difficulty songs until I was very comfortable AAA'ing or near AAA'ing songs around 10-15 difficulty levels underneath them.
I can see you've already got a few AAAs under your belt, which is great. I'd recommend going back to some lower level difficulties (starting at sub-20) and work on purely accuracy. Just get a feel for the timing required for AAAs or SDGs. Once you're comfortable and can finish files in that range with around 3g or less, knock the difficulty up by 5 points or so. When you're getting these types of scores on files in the mid-30s, your accuracy on files in your current comfort range should skyrocket, and then getting more practice on files at that level with improved accuracy should help immensely on the really tough songs.

speed mod 1.8
It's funny you say that because I've been putting off going back and at least trying to FC easier songs. But they're not as much fun as some of the harder tracks

Re: Question on Improving
Something I've found that helps me is going through my level ranks and playing all my unplayed songs. I would like to go through and work on FC, but it makes the level not as exciting because if it's previously unplayed, I KNOW I'm improving my rank haha
Sometimes I get in the mood to try to get a ton of easy AAAs, or sometimes I'd rather try to get all FC's for like lvl 50 and under or something along those lines. I find it makes the "practice" more fun.Comment

Re: Question on Improving
My only problem with that, embarrassingly is that I get really really bored on long easy songs and loose focus then miss note and then I get pretty sad and go play something else :PSomething I've found that helps me is going through my level ranks and playing all my unplayed songs. Re: Question on Improving
Sometimes you can kind of zone out focus on the easy boring ones, at least that's what's helped me tackle some of them down. It's good to get them out of the way, even if you mainly play the higher difficulty songs.
