Recommended settings for R^3?

Hello,

I am using the R^3 client, and I have all of my settings set to default, minus the key inputs.

Are there any general beginner settings that are recommended? I know in StepMania it was advised that I used c-mods. Are there any similar recommendations for FFR, such as for Speed, Global Offset, Judge Offset, Receptor Spacing, Framerate, and Rate?

2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 Processor
16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory
OS X 10.9.1 Operating System
Retina Macbook Pro 15"

Tweaking your receptor spacing could help you read more easily, also using screencut if you play on a low speedmod tends to do wonders for your accuracy.
Other than that, it's all a matter of just testing the settings and finding something that works for you personally.
There's no better setup, it's all about personal preference~

Edit: Oh I'd recommend playing FFR on a standalone flash player if you aren't already. You'll notice a significant improvement and lot less lag. ^_^

I'm using a standalone Flash Player 9 client already. Not sure whether to use that or Flash Player 12, but apparently this game runs better in Flash Player 9 due to how it was coded, so I think I'll stick with 9.

Should I probably up my speedmod from the default? I know the default in SM is apparently way too slow in the long run; c600-c850 is the standard range, which is well above the default 1x.

Yeah it's not too often you find people who still play 1x.
If memory serves correctly c600-c850 is roughly 1.95-2.75x, so if that's the range you're comfortable with I'd suggest starting around there~

aero should be disabled as well, look for my performance tips in the MultiPlayer plazas stickies, they're relevant beyond multiplayer as well

I use a regular offset of 1 or 2 (depending on the song's sync) and a global offset of 1

C600-850 is a pretty big gap! For me C600 is like playing on 1.5x on FFR R^3 and that's p much unplayable for me. C850 is fine but I tend to play C900 and above on SM (using distant mod) I tend to stay around 2.75-2.8x on FFR, which is slightly higher than the average player.

I use 85 receptor spacing using FFR noteskin, sometimes SM orbular if need to read denser things the spacing in the orbs are farther than the FFR noteskin, but the FFR noteskin is more eye-popping and you can differentiate the colours easier so I tend to use that more. It's up to your visual preference just as much as anything else, just experiment :P

I do not mess with framerates or offsets 90% of the time so I can't comment on that.
