Setting Menu/ Big Purple Circle

When you go into the settings menu some items are grey and cannot change them. IS there a way to?

After you play the song, there is a big purple circle. What is that for?

You can not select the gray'd things in the settings menu yet.

And that purple circle is to display what mods you used.
