    Finger Set-Up...

I'm not exactly a noob but I thought that this was the most fitting section to post in so yea. But uh... I've noticed with the harder songs (CIA rave) that it's almost impossible to do it with three fingers, are they any people using 4 or like the number pad or help me out here! Much Thanks

There are already a few threads that talk about this kinda stuff so you might want to check them out to see alot of different stratgies and either use them or fuse them into your style.

Something I remember is a two-handed technique set up like so:

    up: left index
    left: left middle
    right: right middle
    down: right index

or something like that. Hope it helped.

use 2 fingers from either hand. Do NOT use 1 hand, in the long run this technique will not serve you well. Get used to coordinating both ur hands to work together. It's almost like piano playing. When each hand becomes independant of the other then it's like you are only doing half the work becuase each hand takes 2 arrows instead of 1 hand taking all 4. If you ever want to do well on the very difficult songs you must use this technique.

Finger set ups vary wildly. None's better than another. somebody who plays with one hand, can be just as good as someone who plays with 2. It's all about what you're capable of adjusting to and what you're better at. I play with my indexes, so that I won't have to worry about which finger is 'supposed' to go where. When I see a key, i tap it with whatever. Indexes are also good for mass jackhammers.

As a side note, CIA Rave is possible with one hand, it just takes skill and practice. Keep working on it, you'll get there *thumbs up*

I know people don't like to be rude here and don't like to insult other people's ways of fingering but I do believe that There are good ways of tecnique and there are bad ways. Ofcourse there may be better playsre who use 3 fingers form 1 hand than there are players who use 2 from both but this is because people are different and have different abilities. I would guarontee that a person who uses 1 hand would improve greatly if he switched to a 2 hand technique and used it long enough to gain full rythmic independance of both hands. To get a hand to be completely and rythmically independant of the other takes a long time and Lot's of hard work and many people do not stick to the 2 hand fingering long enough to understand just how powerful 2 hands can be. 2 hands are more capable than 1 hand. Distribute the workload evenly over both sides of the brain and don't force 1 side to do all the work. In the long run you will be able to push urself to places you never though you could go.

No you can't garantee it, otherwise I'd be a very very special exception. When I first started playing the game, I played with one hand, 2 days later, there was a thread on the forums of the similar sort. That's when I learnt it was 'ok' to play with two hands, so I started to play using both set-ups. Up to now, it's been almost a year since I started playing. And still, my highest scores are accomplished using my right hand. and btw, I'm left handed.

                  Not true.

After A'ing club a few times with 1 hand, I realised it was impossible to get any better and stopped playing 1 hand.

2 hands will always be superior to 1 hand.
