This is already in Chit Chat and everyone has discussed it and why it isn't terribly important. Yet.
It (maybe) cured one guy. They haven't tried this with anyone else, so maybe it only works if you have both leukemia and HIV and are white and male. Also, the transplant surgery is fairly dangerous.
It might even be a dead-end discovery. Nobody knows enough to really make it a sensational news story.
EDIT: Well, to be fair, it IS the first ever case of HIV going the hell away completely due to treatment. Good
They should develop it a bit more before getting everyone's hopes up.
There has been a proven case of a cured man with HIV+. He was HIV+ for 10 years, and when he was treated (not sure how), he was cured, and showed no signs of HIV for 2 years already. He's been off his medications.
