You could talk about the lyrics of the song, what they mean, see if there's any hidden message behind them. Or, you could talk about the instruments in use, saying something along the lines of "This instrument's melody flows very well with the percussion beat" or something like that.

yeah exactly...write about how the song relates to the world, or how the song relates to you...it really depends on the essay question. if its just about the broad definition of a song, then u have to get more technical. but if its asking wut a certain song is in terms that deal with its flow, its meaning, etc, thats where u start writing how the lyrics deal with the song, or how the lyrics affect your life, or how the songs beat and rhythm relate to the world itself. basically what they said, just going deeper.
