    Death penalty

    Definatly for this

it would not only get rid of the criminals

it would set an example for future criminals saying "If you do the crime..................well kill you"

    what do you think

there would be A LOT of dead people......that and people might want to die so then they'll go commit a crime just so they can die....it's like an illegal way to legally commit suicide.......

        but ya gotta think
out there are many people that WANT to die for thire cause
killing them would just satisfy them
what we need to do, is lock them up for life and MAKE THEM SUFFER!
however, the downside is all the money it will cost us to "take care of them"
        so, yeah, good and bad

It's a load of bullshit. They're always finding excuses like well we try to release the lower level criminals and offenders to make room for the psycho's and such. All they have to do is find the really big retards and psycho's and killers and cannibals and fucken kill them! ZAP ZAP ZAP! :P

cant do that...the jails would pile up with inmates and, not only would it be crowded, we would be paying laot of taxes to keep them alive

Ok. Here's what I think. I am pro-death penalty, to a point. Here's my reasoning. The average innmate in a medium to high security prison costs around $44,000 per year. That's taxpayers money. And with over 2 Million Americans incarcarated in the prison system at any given time, that's a LOT of money. Those people are never going to be let out. They will never 'pull up their bootstraps', so to speak, and become a worthwhile member of the community. They will never hold a high paying or risky job, if they are in for life they will never get out, and so they rot away in Jail flushing money.

Now, here's the other side. Since I (and a large percentage of Americans) have little faith in the legal system, there's always the issue of what happens when they convict someone mistakenly. Studies show that many times teenagers and (a lesser amount) of adults admit to hefty crimes they did not do, when facing severe interrogation for hours on end. They may confess because they feel if they do, they can just get out of this hellhole. Plus, with the advancing DNA techonologies, thousands of wrongfully convicted innmates are being let out, after years of servitude for a crime they did not commit. What would happen if we killed everyone who we thought did it, then 20 years later discovered we were wrong? What would happen then? You can't just send an apology letter to the family signed by the President.

                      Sound like something they'd do...

But really, if they're life was on the line, I doubt they'd lie to 'get out', because the 'getting out' would go from jail time to death =/.

people that would confess to something they didnt do should be punished anyway...i mean they would be lieing under oath, thats punishable under law

By the time they're on the witness stand and under fire, they've already confessed. You can't change targets halfway through a case unless you have tangible evidence to do so. Most people confess in the interrogation room, after being subjected to police brutality, lies, food deprivation, sleep, and interrogated for 20-30+ hours. Most give up eventually, or are told 'You can go home if you just sign this and confess.' Yes its illegal, but only two states (Minnesota and Alaska, I think) require interrogations to be taped if a confession is considered valid in a court of law.

Or, in this case, sign this and die biatch.
