    Re: Lucid Dreaming

Okay, I'm getting into lucid dreaming.

I started last night, and wow, only my first try and I got a pretty vivid dream. Not lucid, but vivid. I'll keep logs of them or something. Maybe that'll somehow help.

I used a more short-term version of the WBTB technique, and I also focused my mind on lucid dreaming and remembering the dream before falling asleep at 11:45pm. My alarm went off at 5:59am, went back to bed for another 10 minutes, and that's how I got that vivid dream. Boy, and I can definitely say that a lot happens in ten minutes. I got down two pages of writing on the dream and I can recall lots of details 8)

I can also slightly recall the dream I had before my alarm went off, but not much, just as if it was a normal dream (which I don't have much of).

Updates later, although I doubt anyone cares =)

Oh, something happened to me like that, except there was no dream. I just woke up and my right pinky finger hurt a lot. It was pink and REALLY painful. Well, I went back to bed somehow and I awoke with a huge blister. I got it from rubbing my pinky along a desk, writing for two hours straight... anyway, that sucker was huge. I popped it with a pencil and there's still a scar there, and this happened 3 years ago. I could probably make it go away with microdermabrasion, though.

      Re: Lucid Dreaming

This happens to me at least once a week. I read about it somewhere and decided I was going try it.

Id like to stay updated Carbo.

I got really close to a lucid dream last night. I did the hand rubbing thing and started to get lucid, but i got excited and was afraid that i would wake up, so i just stopped attempting it and went back to normal dreaming.

Vitamin B5 (as caldium pantothenate) 50mg
Lycoris radiate extract (as galantamine HBr) 4mg
          Melatonin 0.5mg

Ok, anything with "radiate" can't be good for you. Lol.

Thats interesting, melatonin is a hormone that has something to do with sleep, damn it I can't remember exactly what now, surely someone on here knows, but that may be the key ingredient

              Re: Lucid Dreaming

So I woke up this morning at about 7 o clock and went to see if I had school. I watched the news to see if I had school and I did not; the weather preditctions were right about there being ice on the roads. So I went back to bed, woke up a couple hours later, went to bed one more time and I had the first lucid dream that I can recall having in several years. I was in one of the rooms in my house, and the year was 1995. I knew this because I had asked my mom what year it was and she said 1995, and I also had a regular dream which led up to it that occured in 1995.

Anyways, I all of a sudden realized that I was in a dream. I then wanted to try some stuff, so I did. I'm sure none of you know about action pistol shooting (watch the introductory video on the front page of www.USPSA.com for info) but I decided to dry fire (practice without bullets) my gun some (there was no gun in my shooting bag). Just by thinking about my gun appearing, the bottom half of it appeared, and then with more thought the top half appeared and it looked just like my real glock 34. What was cool was that I didn't have to rack the slide like I normally do to pull the trigger, so I could shoot the miniature ipsc targets on the wall with multiple shots each.

The dream was as vivid as real life, the sights even moved on the target like in real life. I tried actually shooting since I knew it was a dream, but for some reason the gun wouldn't go off (Maybe it's because I take precaution to never dryfire with the gun loaded, so my subconscious wouldn't let me fire the gun). I think I dry fired around the house a little more, then I was doing something else and I got scared that something bad was going to happen (not related to dry fire).

Apparently what happens in a lucid dream is only what your subconscious mind produces and not what you're thinking of in the front of your conscious mind, so nothing really bad happened. I did see some weird stuff appear out of nowhere on the walls and floor though, which was kind of freaky, and also must have been produced by my subconscious. They were like pictures in that they were flat, but they weren't pictures, they were just there for a rather short time.

Later, I wanted to go out and shoot vs. my dad at the range, since I thought I would win, and my dad and I didn't shoot competition back then. I thought that this would give me an opportunity to be able to shoot in the dream. However, before we even left the house I woke up, possibly because my conscious mind was too active or I was too excited, I don't quite remember.

I Just thought I'd share my story and some things that I noticed in the lucid dream. Any questions?
