The Wiccan idea of everything you do returning to you three fold is well known. It seems to me more of a way of keeping people under control, or at least from getting too powerful. Anyone have any thoughts? This isn't a general discussion of karma, just this particular theory of it.

It's less a control tactic and more of a way to get people to be good. Suggesting that it's a method of controlling people smacks of conspiracy theory, and a poorly constructed one, at that.
As for the question in the title, you should probably ask yourself "how could anyone possibly answer this question?" Do you really expect someone to come in here and recount how in a previous life he or she stole ten bucks and then had thirty dollars stolen recently?
So, since this isn't a discussion about karma in general, we can't discuss that, only the threefold aspect of it. However, we can't even debate the validity of that aspect since the concept of testing it is completely absurd.

Well when I was younger we lived in my grandmas houde because we were buying it but she had to make some payments for us and, she didnt have money. So my uncle said he would help us out and fix up the house. He did until he got greedy... really greedy. He evicted us. We lived in a run-down apartment, wich isn't easy with 4 people. Days after he started getting sick. He went to the doctor's office. He had cancer, and it started affecting him in his old age. Well he died 3 years later and I can honestly say I felt he deserved it.
Kicking out familyx3=death.
I think thats reasonable.
