    nanotechnology

Anyone else think this is interesting?

Supposedly someone has invented a wire that conducts 1000 times more electricity than a copper wire due to nano sized materials that it is coated in. Also in medicine, nanosized particles are injected into someone with a tumor, then those particle (which glow in ultraviolet light) flock toward the tumor making it easier for doctors to see.

    Re: nanotechnology

In theory nanotechnology could be used to prevent someone from dying by causing regeneration and stuff. Though not proven, it is a cool thing to think about. It's the technological equivalent of stem cells, but think stem cells on crack.

      Re: nanotechnology

i was actually going to take nanotechnology in uiniversity but opted instead to take Mechatronic Engineering.
Anyways, the ideas of nanotechnology right now are amazing. Experiments in quantum computing have begun and if they ever work out all the kinks then that will drastically change our lives. It will make the computers we all have right now seem like oversized pieces of sh!t.
Nano tubing is another breakthrough in the field. Basically it is wiring and tubing that is only a few atoms in diameter and width.

So in answer to your question..... yes

The thing that interests me most about nanotechnology right now is the whole idea of making super powerful batteries, simply because they have already been developed and they will benefit me immediately after they come out by offering a way of powering laptops that is actually efficient in terms of battery life and recharge times.

The medical possibilities of it are awesome as well, although I have not done enough research on them to talk about them.

Eventually its going to get so advanced that some people think that you can get an implant in your brain to make it reject aging, which doesnt relly make any sense to me, becaus no human can live past 120 years.

Umm, they can live past 120 years

All we have to do is make those cells continue forming. Giving the rate of progress we are enjoying, I wouldn't spout absolutes.

I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

The girls powers come from nano tech or something similar I guess. ;p

If you know who that is, you should already know the answer to this question.

actually, there was this thing i heard about that its a nanochip that they put like in your body and it fights cancer cells. im not entirely sure about this though.

I am not sure about that, but one guy had a nano chip placed in his shoulder that cause impulses from his brain to go to a robotic arm allowing him to use it just like his other arm.

Nanotech isn't making little bots and **** to go in your body.

At least as far as I know it's not.

It's about the properties of molecules at a molecular level. Almost like making synthetic human enzymes, except right now they'll look horribly primitive to god knows how long natural selection has been working on this ****.

Right now the real problem is making sure the nanoparticles are environmentally friendly and the materials used will eventually be released back to the planet, probably to be fetched up and used again.

If we don't use metals, and use carbon-based stuff kind of like amino acids, random bacteria will probably take care of that for us.
