You make your own choices, and being a furry is a perfectly acceptable one. However, telling everyone about it and complaining about people making fun of you for being one is not an acceptable choice. Many of us do things that others would consider WEIRD or ODD, but we don't ****ing talk about it, because we have some sense.

We do not lack the sector of the brain that tells us what is socially acceptable or not, like your entire group of people evidently seems to by the amount of furry bitching topics. I cannot recall the last time I saw someone make a post that was anti-furry where there were no furries around, because you guys simply don't bother us UNLESS you go on rants about being a furry or talking about furry stuff.

If you liked eating feces I would not CARE about it as long as you didn't make posts saying "why don't you like feces eaters you're all racist prejudiced mofos go die we're normal too ", but here is the thing, YOU'RE NOT NORMAL.

Don't talk about it, and we won't care, in fact, there is a good chance we'll like you. Even if we KNOW you're a furry, if you don't flaunt it, WE DON'T GIVE A DAMN. It's not that we hate furries, it's that we don't care about you, at all, you are worthless to us as is your entire fandom. If you don't talk about it, there is a good chance we'll be your friend.

Being a furry doesn't make you special, it makes you weird, weird like that random kid at school who no one likes for no specific reason but he certainly should be pushed to the side (passively) and ignored. That is what you are when you emphasize the fact that you are a furry.

Steps to take to not be pushed to the side and ignored.
1. Don't talk about it.
2. Don't put furry stuff in your avatar.
3. Don't bitch about persecution.
4. Realize that you're not special for being furry doesn't mean being special, unless we're talking down's syndrome special.
5. Be cool.

I should say, one of my best and first internet friends (literally, she was the first person I had on my AIM friends list) is a furry. However, I had no idea what furries were at the time, because she didn't go "I'm a fox ^_^" or something weird. She had avatars with dog/wolf-people, and I didn't really see anything weird in that in and of itself (I mean, hey, my first avatar that I used online was Szas Tam, or whatever the lich's name is that rules one of the evil cities inside the Forgotten Realms universe).

I guess the thing to keep in mind is to not talk about things that other people don't like with people who don't like them.

...I still can't believe it, though. I find this stereotyping annoying, and for some reason, told not to post my first chapter of my story ust because it was a furry story. Why is this? Keep in mind that I am a bit of smartmouth, due to being 13 and a Furry...

Was your train of thought, "Hm, how can I be different from everyone else? I know, I could do something WAY out there to be toooootally different! I could like sex with animals!
