    "We all Hate America"

    Alright, knowing that most of the world right now hates America and Bush, thinks Americans are stupid, and think we deserved 9/11, I just wanted to ask something of everyone. STOP WITH THE CONSTANT PREJUDICE! I am not even talking about the people who say "I hate America," but about the people who say "All Americans who voted for Bush are stupid". Just because quite a few ignorant people voted for Bush, doesnt mean you can generalize everyone. I have a friend who is going to be a doctor, and since Bush is more against malpractice lawsuits than Kerry was, he voted Bush. That could save his occupation in the future. But noooo, everyone who votes for Bush is stupid right? Give me a break...

    Yeah so, who agrees/disagrees, commentary, etc.
    Every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilizations, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every hopeful child, every mother and father, every inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every superstar, every supreme leader, every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lives here on a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam.

      few things...

      1. you original thought is a comment, not a question.
      2. singular verb = to sue. plural noun = lawsuits.
      3. any person who bases their voting off of one very specific issue is stupid; medical school or not.
      4. if you look at which states voted Bush and which voted Kerry, it is obvious that the general "hick" (or stupid) portion of our grand country voted Bush. there was even a chart posted here a few months ago listing all of the states by average IQ and who they voted for. no suprise that the 15 smartest states all voted Kerry and the 25 dumbest states voted Bush... that is what pisses me off about people who dislike generalizations and stereotypes. they become a generalization FOR A REASON. yes, there are rare exceptions to every rule... but the majority of the group hold true to a stereotype/generalization.
      5. this topic has been talked about alot, moreso around election day. you should search through older posts here and in chit chat to see what others opinions are on the topic.

          3. That friend I was talking about also based it on other issues, but that was his main one. I was just explaining the main one to show that not all Bush-supporters think alike and therefore SHOULDNT be generalized.
          4.About the "hick towns" voting for Bush, you act as though the intelligent states had absoultely no Bush supporters. Even Washington D.C. Had 10% for bush. And likewise, some people in those hick towns voted for Kerry. By grouping ALL bush-supporters as people from redneck states you are actually generalizing them, which I disagree with.

                  Just to add commentary, there are quite a lot of people who voted for Kerry that are ignorant, as well.

                  Chardish said Moogy debunked that... I never saw the proof, but either way, I doubt it's true. Most people I know in high intelligence positions (doctors, lawyers, etc) around my state (which is Nevada, the state with the second to worst puclib education in the states) voted Republican. The majority of the people I know that voted for Kerry, at least in my own city, are fresh high school graduates and/or those that live in poverty (North Las Vegas, for example).

                  The fact is most people in the country are completely uneducated when it comes to politics. The majority of people vote for the party their parents most often voted for when they were children. Other than belonging to one of the parties, that is the biggest determining factor to how someone is going to vote, statistics show. (Not that I have any proof of the statistic. It's just what I learned in AP Government, as did everyone else I've ever met that's taken high school government.)

                          You forgot to talk about how people think that Bush is well....stupid. At one time even I thought he was stupid, but later learned that he is a very smart man. The reason I think he seems very stupid is because he isn't a very good speaker.

                              Well, yeah, I know many people think Bush is stupid, but I don't have too much of a problem with that. It could just lead to an interesting debate on politics, economy, society, etc. What I get annoyed by is, like I said before, the idea that all his supporters are stupid.

                                  I got higher than that in Eighth Grade. :P

                                  It was a tad harder back then, but all things considered, that should not get you into Yale. Oh wait, he was a legacy kid.

                                      I'd just like to make a comment by saying people lok at the bad parts of america before the bad parts of their own country.

                                          Enigma, what are you talking about, the reason they hate america, such as the taliban does, is because they have it bad, and America has it good, if they had it good, then they wouldn't care how America is doing.

                                              Actually I think Tps and Enigma are both right. Many people who don't have it good are blind to their own country's problems and resort to insulting the U.S.

                                                  i personnally dont like bush or america too much for that matter. i think america needs to get better ties and help out the world other than start wars and crap like that. yep.... flame me all you want
