ok, i'm saying this in seriousness, and before you flame it, look at a couple of the points I'm going to list, and give me viable coutnerexamples... I'll even post some of the counterexamples and refute them right here

Being given monetary compensation for giving up your child is beneficial to society for several reasons...
Reason 1: The majority of abortions and kids given up for adoption is due to the prohibitive cost of raising and having a child, Not the age of the mother.. with this in light, we are offering at least a monetary compensation to people that need the money, and also help get the kid to a better home where they can be taken care of.

Reason 2: We as a society do NOT want a person that would sell their kid to raise one! If you care so little for your child that you would rather sell him/her then keep him/her, you aren't the parent we want raising a child anyways in our society. So we are doing the child a favor by bringing it into a family that will love it versus one that couldn't care less.

Counter-examples : where do we get the money from? 2 Solutions, one, the government, its a form of a tax break for the poorest. Two, adoption agencies pay... because right now, they get kids for free, and then sell them for thousands of dollars... Their overhead could very easily support having to pay a stipend for the child.

next counter example: People will turn it into a business. There is no chance of that if you think in terms of economics. The amount of time, manpower, and work involved in bringing a baby to life woudl far outweigh any amount of money that would be given, so Its fairly baseless

It would only really work well if it did become a business. Otherwise, people would eventually lose interest and just kill the child instead of raise it. If it does become a business then we have human farms growing everywhere. This could mean poor living conditions. Also, the business would only succeed if the child was priced at a fairly high rate, thus increasing the cost of "adoption."

Wow, sounds like slave trade. As long as the child is treated with respect, as well as it's parents, I'm ok with a slave trade system like this.

No, it should be an alternative to abortion. And it wouldn't work too well if it the slave farm prices are feasible. That would mean the children would go straight into adoptive homes where they'd have bad "parents" as their owners. It screws itself if the prices are set too low for selling.

If you make it 1000 bucks per kid sold to the system, though. That would discourage the farms as well. I think it's a great system, but 1k per kid somehow still seems low. If I was even more greedy than my green little butt already is, I'd want more for the fruit of my loins.

Rape is very hard to proove these days.. I've said abortion only for rape cases, but then all girls that don't want to have a baby just say that they were raped, whether they actually gave consent. It's an almost sure win.

nono you can't sell directly to other famililes, unless we're counting about possibilities of all illegal actions, but that shouldn't dictate laws. Selling a kid directly to a parent is a black market system, I"m saying sell to an adoption agency, and then you have the system already set up for adopting a kid, which includes rigorous background checks, checkups for the next 18 months, and the cost is jacked to aroudn 6,000 dolalrs for purchase.. make sense Q?
