Probably because most people dont get insanely angry or insanely happy staring at a computer screen. Its a nuetral situation, sit and stare at screen.

man, anyone who knows me decently well here will know i'm angry, a lot. I'm sad a lot too, but i don't show it. I think i'm sad because i know i'm 21, and i need to grow up, but at the same time i'm afraid to grow up. Fuck, i'm all kinds of emotions. Now i'm mad. See? Anger.Comment

I'm always sad or angry because I have so many goals I'm constantly chasing.
I also tend to get mad at summer because I can never decide what to do or what to spend all my free time on, and I end up regretting what I do every fall. If I work, I'm upset because I wind up telling myself I'm not even out of school yet, and that I should be hanging around and doing (next to nothing), enjoying myself. If I do nothing or just lay around playing video games and going swimming, then I get pissed afterwards for not having any money to do anything better or because what I did was boring and stupid.
During school I have no free time because I get home at 5:30, and have extra training or homework to do, and on the weekends I have friday team dinners, saturday races, and sundays are typically family outings.
I didn't have a weekend to myself for a period of 8 months last year.

Neutral is winning because it is the natural set-point. When something happens, your emotions get stronger, but as you adjust to whatever happened, and you get used to it, you are drawn back to neutral. In general, I'm willing to bet that most people are neutral 75% of the time.Comment

After an 8 mile, fast paced bike ride, there aren't really any emotions that you haven't already forced out for more speed. Now that I am in a semi-comfortable room, I would say I am just neutral right now. It doesn't make me boring, just spent.
Although Happy/Content would be a close second. (I'm working on my brand new laptop, and there something about struggling against your body and feeling truely human that makes you content.)Comment
