    Feng shui

im curious about everyones views on it. and for those of you who are unfamilior with the concept.

Feng Shui: The Chinese art or practice of positioning objects, especially graves, buildings, and furniture, based on a belief in patterns of yin and yang and the flow of chi that have positive and negative effects.

so according to feng shui you can make yourself more healthy according to how your furniture is aranged.

          ...

Feng Shui is based on logical thinking, if you really think about it. I have absolutely no clue concerning the spiritual aspect, but hey, it works!

I haven't read anything about it, but I would assume that is the purpose. If you weren't comfortable with how it was, it would bother you, thus creating negative energy.

I quite agree. If you are uncomfortable with all that positive/negative energy stuff, you should look at it as a type of common sense, where certain ideas work for many people.

The thing I'm curious about is the origin. How did they come up with feng shui? Do you think it was purely based on symbolism, or was it more of a trial-and-error thing?

If feng shui permits putting the couch facing the television, and being a comfortable visual distance from it, then sure, it's cool.

And how does Feng Shui know where the wall sockets are?

It is not the position of the Wall Socket that matters, but the shape of it. Irregular-shaped things create destructive energy.

Positioning of things depends on your Geomantic Compass.
It's really quite simple once you know how the compass works. It's learning how the compass works that's complicated. :P

There's a difference between Feng Shui and my post, Feng Shui tells you where to put the furniture, I say put it where you want.

And Omega didn't you already post a thread on this a while back

yeah, and he put a link to it a lil bit ago. and i say screw Feng Shui. if u dont like how it's arranged it will be degenerative to your health, and u may not like how Feng Shui dictates that u should arrange your furniture. i think Jamie said it best.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

It does not dictate. If it dictated, it would force you place your stuff in such manners using a whip.

Also, Feng Shui is not all about furniture. There are neat diagrams you can make using the Geomantic Compass that can tell you if your house is going to burn down of natural causes and stuff.

Like I said in my topic, Feng Shui is kinda like Tarot Cards, but more interactive. It's just superstition.
